Zero Trust Access Application - subdomain suddenly no longer found

We have an Access Application set up for subdomain.domain.com.

This was set up a long time ago (years ago when Access was first available) and Cloudflare automatically created an AAAA DNS record for the subdomain.

It’s been working fine, but suddenly, when we go to subdomain.domain.com, we’re getting a “not found” error page:
This site can’t be reached
subdomain.domain.com’s server IP address could not be found.

I’m trying to troubleshoot it, and noticed that if I look in the Cloudflare DNS panel for domain.com, subdomain is nowhere to be found.

Is this normal now? I’m at a loss as to how to proceed to troubleshoot at this point.

All Cloudflare Access does (with self-hosted apps, which is presumably what you are talking about) is add authentication in front of your site.

What service did you have behind Access? Did you have a real origin?

If you were using Workers, a AAAA proxied DNS Record with a target of 100:: for originless setups (to get traffic flowing through Cloudflare). Perhaps that is what you were talking about?

It might be easier for you to check Audit Logs and find the deleted record, you can filter by domain.
