No option to allow cookies from non-cloudflare supported tools
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
When integration f.e. a YouTube video to your website it will use cookies. I am unable to find how to add these to Zaraz Consent mode.
Is there a way to add third-party cookies that are not supported by Cloudflare into zaraz consent mode?
It’s unclear what your question is. If you’re asking about Zaraz’s Google Consent Mode integration, described here - Google Consent Mode | Cloudflare Zaraz docs - then like the document says, it supports Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads only.
I want to use Zaraz Consent with Google Consent Mode V2.
In general this seems to work, for Tools that I have added via Zaraz.
The problem arises when there are other third-party plugins that are not supported by Zaraz Tools. For example, when you integrate YouTube video in a page, it will load cookies on that page.
To be cookie compliant, I would need to ask for consent for these cookies as well. Is this possible using Zaraz Consent?
Can I add ‘external cookies’ to the Zaraz Consent part?
Thank you @yoav_zaraz – perhaps in the future?
Do you know whether these third party cookies like YouTube are in the pipeline to be supported?
I would guess a lot of websites have cookies beyond the currently offered tools? Think of all Woocommerce sites…These are perhaps necessary cookies but should still show up in the list of cookies?
Also, i believe even Cloudflare itself places cookies, but these are not shown in the consent mode? Like
__cf_bm
It is not in the pipeline. Zaraz cannot control cookies by tools it does not load.
I’m still confused whenever you say “consent mode”. Zaraz has the Zaraz Consent Manager, and the Google Consent Mode support. Consent Mode doesn’t show anything at all, at any situation. The Zaraz Consent Manager presents a UI for enabling and disabling consent purposes (not cookies). If one wants to include a purpose that isn’t related to tools loaded by Zaraz (e.g. is used for “necessary cookies”), they can do so by adding their HTML into the Zaraz Consent Manager modal.
Thank you for your patience and effort to explain. I realize I might not fully grasp the concept and therefore confuse some of the issues at hand.
Is it a misconception that the Zaraz Consent Manager would block/disallow the placement of cookies if the user rejects these? I was under the assumption this was the principle behind this. You indicate that it is about consent purposes, but in the end that leads to the same thing (placement or not placement of cookies)?
Say WooCommerce is using certain cookies that are deemed essential for correct functioning of the website, for example a shopping cart. This HTML and code is handled by WooCommerce. Right now we have CookieYes that picks up on these cookies and shows them in the list. Would I be able to add the name of these cookies/consent to Zaraz Consent Manager?
As WooCommerce handles the HTML I would not be able to handle the html myself. Allthough I could add an empty HTML and refer to those essential WooCommerce cookies (as the user always has to give consent for these as they are essential)?

yes. the Zaraz Consent Manager blocks Zaraz-based tools, not cookies. Tools from Zaraz can use cookies.

the Zaraz Consent Manager let’s you add HTML to the modal. you can use it to show whatever you want in the modal, including essential cookies.

I didn’t know understand what was the question here.
Zaraz Consent mode is meant to facilitate compatabiltiy with Google Consent Mode V2, correct? According to documentation:
Zaraz provides automatic support for Consent Mode v2
Now my question is. It is likely there will be OTHER integrations that would place cookies in the visitors browser. For example WooCommerce uses cookies, so does YouTube, HotJar etc etc.
Is there any way to use Zaraz Consent Mode in compatibility with these plugins/integrations?
Thank you for your clarification. As the documentation seems to indicate it is possible it caused some confusion.
If you have cookies that are always placed (for example essential ones by WooCommerce) - could you include those in your cookielist to inform the visitor? As these do not have to be blocked (they are essential) it would be more an informational message.
Yes. If one wants to include a purpose that isn’t related to tools loaded by Zaraz (e.g. is used for “necessary cookies”), they can do so by adding their HTML into the Zaraz Consent Manager modal.
