"You don't need no user agent" —Google

If they follow through with strong user controls, it’s a nice privacy feature.

Edit: I just read that the User-Agent header is no longer a Forbidden header and thus may be modified programmatically such as using a Worker script.

I mostly use User-Agent header for triggering firewall for most annoying users to my sites…

I am not as excited. Not because I believe the user agent header must not go, but rather because Google tends to push these things often for their own agenda.

I am not necessarily saying Client Hints is a bad idea, I am rather saying beware of Greeks bearing gifts

As far as I can tell Client Hints are not exactly a replacement for the User Agent but rather complement it, respectively move a lot of JavaScript functionality to HTTP headers. Hence I am not even sure why they mention Client Hints in the context of the User Agent. Two very different things.

Indeed. I’ve been involved in some processes and learned that fairly quickly.

Hence the conditional statement. :+1:t3:

Cloudflare provide cf-device-type only on the enterprise. Maybe its time to giveaway to free :innocent: :man_shrugging:
