Yet another cloudflare registered domain will not load without www

site dot net does not load and reults in “this site can’t be eached.DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
add the “www” to site dot net and then it loads fine

set up DNS and page rule as outlined in Deprecated - Redirect example dot com to www dot example dot com

The site is a G Suite google site so we have DNS CNAME pointed to ghs dot googlehosted dot com and per above tutorial, we added A record pointed to 192 dot 0 dot 2 dot 1 , a dummy IP address. see DNS & Page rule screenshot below:

What do we need to adjust to load site without www ?

Your redirect is working ok (your domain appears in the screenshot, if it’s not that one, what is it?). You may need to clear your browser cache or use private or incognito mode in case something is cached in your brower.

It is recommended that hostnames that point to ghs.googlehosted.com are set to “DNS only” so Google can validate the setting and generate SSL certificates. It may work for now, but if you get a Cloudflare error in a few months’ time, it’s like due to this.

the sit name you see in the screenshot is a dummy site name. Our site domain is not site.net

You left your site in the Page Rule screenshot as Example: www.r***r.net. That’s the site I checked. You can check it yourself to see the redirects here… cf.sjr.org.uk :: Cloudflare Things

@sjr Oops. Yes I sure missed that on page rule the screenshot. I changed status of records that point to ghs dot googlehosted dot com from Proxied to DNS only per your suggestion. see updated DNS & Page rule below. so you think the site is loading fine without www for you? cool site you built cf dot sjr dot org dot uk/tools/check I sent you a message via your site too.

@sjr Oops again. updated DNS & page rule screenshot

How do I get the screenshots in first and last post removed?

The first part of your rule doesn’t need https, that would also allow it to match http requests

@cscharff, “The first part of your rule doesn’t need https, that would also allow it to match http requests” Done and Thank You for chiming in.

@cscharff, browsing https://site.net failed so went back to having https in “The first part of rule”.

How do I get the screenshots in first and fifth post removed?
