Www and non-www versions of your URL are not redirected to the same site

I was using a cname with www as advised by a gallery proofing solution called photoshelter and it was affecting my SEO. So under the advice of google community I changed my cname. Now my SEO plugin is notifying me of a critical error.

Decide whether you want your site’s URLs to include a “www”, or if you prefer a plain domain name. There are marketing pros and cons for each choice, but neither one is better or worse for SEO purposes - as long as you’re consistent.

You should use HTTP redirections (301 permanant redirects) to pass PageRank from the “wrong” URLs to the standard (canonical) ones. That way, your content will still benefit from backlinks if someone makes a mistake and uses the wrong URL.

You haven’t asked any questions, but if my :crystal_ball: is working, the answer you need is already contained in the content that you shared. Choose whether you want your site to use www or not and redirect the alternate name to the preferred name. You can follow one the first two examples in the following guide.
