WPEngine's New Advanced Network

I tried adding my website to WPEngine’s new Advanced Network - changing the CNAME to wp.wpenginepowered.com. When I did this, I got a Cloudflare warning. Error 1014 CNAME-Cross User Banned.

What can I do to resolve this?

To me, that means WPEngine hasn’t properly configured their system for your hostname. Whatever you point the CNAME is already on Cloudflare and WPE needs to configure this through Cloudflare to fix that.

That’s what I thought, but they insist that it’s something on Cloudflare’s end.

As usual, but it’s not. They need to talk to Cloudflare’s Engineer (as I imagine they are on a Enterprise plan) and configure things better.

Well, strictly speaking, it is. You point to wp.wpenginepowered.com, and that’s on Cloudflare, but you don’t control that hostname. WP Engine does through their Cloudflare account.
