Wordpress cookie problem with a Cloudflare domain

What is the name of the domain?

fabtribute.com

What is the error message?

Error: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.

What is the issue you’re encountering

Getting the infamous “cookies blocked” wordpress message ONLY on my cloudflare domain on a WPMU installation

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Tried everything I’ve found on the web, adding lines to wp-config, turning on developer mode, pausing Cloudflare, clearing cache and cookies, deleting and re-adding the WP site.

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

I don’t know

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

So I don’t THINK this is a Cloudflare issue but I’m not SURE. The reason I wonder is that I have a Wordpress Multisite installation, and the new domain I registered with Cloudflare is the ONLY site having this issue. When I try to log in to the Wordpress dashboard for that site I get “Error: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.” This does not happen with any of my other domains which are all registered elsewhere. My host doesn’t think it’s Cloudflare related either but I just thought I’d check here to see if anyone had any insight as to whether it COULD be something weird specifically with my Cloudflare settings since my Cloudflare domain is the only one that has this issue. So frustrating and weird!

The domain is not proxied by Cloudflare, so it can’t possibly be Cloudflare that causes problems with cookies.

That’s what I figured. It’s just so weird that it only happens with my one Cloudflare domain so I figured it was worth checking with folks with far more in depth technical knowledge than me. Thanks!

This error usually occurs when WordPress cannot verify cookies are enabled. Since this issue only affects the domain routed through Cloudflare in your WordPress Multisite (WPMU) setup, the problem might involve Cloudflare’s configurations or caching behavior rather than WordPress itself.

It is indeed weird, but I would figure that if it was a Cloudflare issue that turning on “development mode” as well as “pausing cloudflare” so that traffic is routed directly would solve the issue wouldn’t it?
