Will cloudflare work without "www" in my URLS?

This Cloudflare tutorial by SiteGround states that “To use the CDN service and to always have your website served from the closest location to your visitors your website always has to redirect to WWW URLs.”

Is this true?

How important is this, really?

For years, my site has not used “www” in the URL and I’m not very eager to change it now.

But I’d like to look into using Cloudflare in the near future.

Cant say if the Siteground configuration comes with special requirements, but if you have a regular Cloudflare account you are not required to use a www record.
