Wildcard url to bypass cache

Hello, i’ve been trying to get my website’s avatars to be ignored by the cache but cannot get it right for some reason.

The avatar url looks like this: https://example.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/username_avatar-56x56.jpg

My cache bypass page rule looks targets the url example.com/*_avatar-56x56*

Am I using the wildcards wrong here?

Your example didn’t format properly, but assuming it is

/*_avatar-56x56*

then it should be fine.

Can you post a screenshot of your page rule, your page rule list, and can you provide a sample URL?

This is what my rule looks like. I’ve got 2 identical rules one for the 56x56 size and one for the 96x96 size.

As for the URL unfortunately I cannot provide it.

The page rule looks all right and if you only have those two rules, then that should be fine as well.

I am afraid if you don’t post the URL, that’s all that can be verified. All you could do is try to put an additional asterisk in front of the domain.

If you want to keep the URL private you could run a test with a sample URL at sitemeer.com and post here the exact time you did so.

I think I figured it out. I missed the part about the page rules that said “Only one Page Rule will trigger per URL” and I had another page rule above it overriding it. After removing that rule it seems to work now, cheers!

Pleasure. That’s why I asked for
