Why the log of the NGINX server shows the real address of the client

Why the log of the NGINX server shows the real address of the client, not the Cloudflare address?

This it is written that the server should see all clients as from the Cloudflare address, but it shows me the Real addresses, why is this happening?

I’d say it’s better for the owner to get real IP instead of the Cloudflare proxied IP due to the possible attack probes, etc.

If you’ve configured your Nginx config file to show real IP address, and if it works, then all good. Did you configured it, or not and you’re experiencing this already?

This isn’t an issue at all.

This is a problem for me, since the bad guys already know my real server address and are conducting DDOS attack bypassing Cloudflare, at the IP address. Therefore, I want to block access from all ip addresses except the Cloudflare ip address.

I use Nginx and the log format settings i did not change

Hi @nogeus, please only allow list these Cloudflare IP addresses:

Thank you.
