Dear Customer,

Thank you for reaching out. This typically points to a DNS resolution issue or missing origin configuration.

Key Areas to Check

  1. DNS Configuration in Cloudflare

Please log into your Cloudflare dashboard, navigate to the DNS tab for your domain, and verify the following:

  • There is a valid A record for your root domain (@) pointing to your server’s IP address.
  • If you use www, ensure there is a CNAME record pointing to your root domain or server.
  • Confirm the records are set to Proxied (orange cloud :cloud:) if you want Cloudflare to handle traffic and apply its security/performance layers.
  1. Check Nameserver Status

Your domain must use the Cloudflare-assigned nameservers. You can verify this with a WHOIS lookup or DNS tool. If you’re still using your registrar’s default nameservers, Cloudflare DNS won’t be active.

If you recently changed nameservers, keep in mind that DNS propagation can take up to 24–48 hours.

3. Server Availability

Make sure the server (origin IP) you’re pointing to is online and accessible. You can test this by entering the server IP directly in your browser or using a ping/traceroute tool.
4. SSL/TLS Settings

If you’re using Full or Full (Strict) SSL mode, ensure that your origin server has a valid certificate installed. An SSL misconfiguration can also cause your site to appear unreachable.

Next Steps

  1. Verify that your DNS records are correct in the Cloudflare dashboard
  2. Ensure your domain is using the correct Cloudflare nameservers
  3. Confirm your server is running and accessible at the IP address you’ve configured
  4. If SSL is enabled, confirm the origin certificate is valid

If you’d like, feel free to send a screenshot of your DNS settings (with any sensitive IPs redacted), and I’d be happy to take a closer look.

Let me know if we can assist further in getting your site back online.
