Why isn't Cloudflare using the nearest server to my location?

Hi, I have the Pro plan. My server is in the US but my audience is in Chile.
I’m also in Chile and Cloudflare has a server here
But Clouflare is responding from the server in MIAMI !

The https://chile.grupotusmaquinas.com/cdn-cgi/trace/ responds colo=MIA.
So I’m being served from MIAMI. But I’m located in Chile
Why is it not using the server located in Chile?

By the way, I asked the same to Support in ticket #3163226… and got NO RESPONSE AT ALL.

Best check your Spam folder. I’m pretty sure all tickets get some sort of automated response.

If you open up the Archived dropdown in this tutorial, it explains a bit how requests may be routed:

Hi sdayman, right I got an automated response, but no human response.

I’ve read all that documentation, but it still makes no sense that Cloudflare does not assign me the nearest server, considering that it did so in the past. When I first set up my account I was served from Chile, now from Miami.

That’s why I requested support from Clouflare, maybe the server in Chile is offline???

Furthermore, pinging the ip of my server directly is 6 times faster than pinging the domain in cloudflare.
