Why is my Edge Certificate "Pending Deletion"

Hi all,

I was working through this guide (https://developers.cloudflare.com/ssl/edge-certificates/changing-dcv-method/methods/txt/) to setup TXT DCV today.

After running the PATCH request here (https://developers.cloudflare.com/api/operations/ssl-verification-edit-ssl-certificate-pack-validation-method), I was able to get the SSL working (hooray!); however, running the PATCH request seemed to update the status of our certificate from “Active” to “Pending Deletion.”

I couldn’t find any information on what it means for a certificate to be “Pending Deletion” - it’s had that status for ~30 minutes already; will it disappear any minute now (leaving me without a cert), or does it mean something else?

Sincerely,
T

Do you see a second certificate for your domain?

[UPDATE - This was resolved!]

There was not.

The certificate ended up getting deleted after about an hour.

I was then able to create a new certificate using the API endpoint described here https://community.cloudflare.com/t/cant-access-site-a-ssl-certificate-uses-unsupported-protocol/314749/23
