Whole domain forwarding

I want to forward abc.com [real domain: RD] to .xyz Domain Names | Join Generation XYZ (forwarded URL: FUR]. I added RD on Cloudflare but left all the DNS records blank. Just put Cloudflare’s NS in my registrar

In Cloudflare I did URL forwarding and forwarded (301) RD/ to FUR.

However when I go to RD I get: This site can’t be reached / RD ’s server IP address could not be found. ← which is probably because I don’t have an A record.

Which A record should I put? would a random IP works fine?

Redirecting One Domain to Another has all the details on that.

Thanks for your solution

Worked fine. Apologies but I didn’t manage to find this tutorial - and another one I found didn’t speak of the A records.

Much appreciated

No worries, you already did more research than the average poster here

Just for the record I was following: https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200172286-Configuring-URL-forwarding-or-redirects-with-Cloudflare-Page-Rules

Maybe it needs to be updated to add the ‘A records’
