Hello, I discovered this message in APO:
Note: APO runs against the following list of hostnames: music-bay.net, www.music-bay.net
And when I click on the url with the active link - I’ve never done it before - I’m sent straight to this page ‘http’ (http://www.music-bay.net/).
But the home page of my site is https://www.music-bay.net/, so ‘https’, with the ‘s’.
So here are my questions:
-Does this mean that APO is optimizing the ‘wrong’ page?
-Is the whole of Cloudflare associated with the ‘wrong’ page?
-Where can I see the url of my site in Cloudflare to find out which url it’s linked with? I’ve looked everywhere, in Account Home, settings - can’t find it.
My site has existed for several years and the Cloudflare account was created when the site url was still ‘http’. Is it possible that Cloudflare has been doing a permanent mega redirect for all these years, over and over again?
From time to time the site goes down momentarily and I see the message that this is due to ‘too many redirects’. Is there a connection between these situations?
Thank you very much for your help
Kris
The plugin is active for the hostnames, in your case music-bay.net and www.music-bay.net.
http:// and https:// are schemes, and Cloudflare is active for both.
It’s probably just a weird bug in the Cloudflare dashboard that the hostname with www. is automatically turnet into a link to the http version of your site. It doesn’t affect what actually happens.
Can you provide some more information on this? How often does this happen? How long does it last? Are you doing anything to fix it or does it resolve itself? Are all users affected by this at the same time or only some?
Thank you Laudian for your reply, it’s very reassuring to know that everything is correctly configured in Cloudflare.
Regarding the error message: this happens when I upload audio files (Music Bay is a music marketplace). Some musicians have problems uploading, others do not. When I do the tests with the problematic zips, after 2 or 3 attempts - never more! - I see this error message: the site is down due to too many redirects.
I usually wait 1-2 minutes, then refresh the page, and the site is up and running again. If the same thing happens again in future, I’ll take a screenshot.
Thanks again-).
