If you would like to explain your issue here, chances are good that the community can help you.
Otherwise, if you don’t see the chat icon, using a different browser or a private window with no plugins might help, as AdBlockers and such might block the chat.
thanks…i saw it initially and the it just disappeared and when i got to help centre it says i need to upgrade to business - very frustrating when we’re in down-mode
I think we have DNS dupes and conflicts and need some help weeding them out (I’m not a developer) so struggling a bit! May I share them for comments?
well…
Sure. Could you start by sharing your domain and explaining what exactly the problem is?
yes of course. thanks

we were trying to verify our domain for a new CRM (Kit.com). The widget was supposed to allow us to automatically access cloudflare (via nameservers) and updated dns records (Go Daddy is registrar)
However what seems to have happened is that the widget created another cloudflare account…with new creds..duplicated all the DNS settings and then forced an error 1000 - nigthmare!
I figured out that a dupe account had been created, cancelled the old one and then re-set it all up (and moved to business in the hope of some support)
bottom line is that i have a long list of dns records that I’m pretty sure are causing resolution conflicts…but i don’t know enough about them to know which ones to keep / eliminate
Cha gpt provided some guidance but i don’t want to risk removing some and then triggering another calamity…
For simplicity, I would recommend that you switch back to using the old account. It will be much simpler to verify a single new service that you’re using rather than move everything over to the new account.
That said, if you wish to use the new account, as you’ve already paid for it, you should export the DNS records from the old account and import them to the new account.
However, before you do that, can you share a screenshot of the records in the new account? That’s so we can see what records were automatically added for Kit.
So I would:
Ok..so our webmaster deleted the old cloudflare account (which wasn’t very helpful). The good news (i hope) is that through trial and error I’ve figured out the IP address 45.56.107.88 seems to be the one that resolves to the site. That leaves:
104.21.41.6
172.67.141.33
Both go to 1003 error (so assume that’s because they’re protected by cloudflare?) Would they therefore correspond to the two name servers?
|NS|ursula.ns.cloudflare.com|
|NS|vick.ns.cloudflare.com|
Do I need them?
Here’s the list of all DNS records…would love to know which (if any) to keep or delete
When you add a zone to Cloudflare, Cloudflare tries to automatically import the DNS records.
This is a problem when a domain is already using Cloudflare, because when using the proxy, Cloudflare publishes their own IP rather than yours, and the import ends up importing Cloudflare’s IP addresses.
This obviously doesn’t make sense, and you need to delete all of these and replace them with your actual DNS records.
This includes all of the AAAA records in your screenshot, delete all of them.
Yes, that looks good.
Here are some more DNS records from your old nameservers:

"google-site-verification=JysP8NvWVJVgp_Qoa1JBiBe4SiEp_vHdSn5uo1jhqtw"
"google-site-verification=MNRjsu19Wyw5l57QBom7gQbgH6EslDJeDSz2vfQoaSs"
"google-site-verification=aUydEwMBn-FN38JucMcELNolym1ZkwxYUZrEiZNVCQI"
"klaviyo-site-verification=M4fnwh"
"v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.mlsend.com include:145544355.spf10.hubspotemail.net ~all"
It seems you already have the Google site verification records, but Klaviyo is missing (do you still use that?) and your SPF record is not correct.
You’ll also want to delete the *._domainkey
record. It does absolutely nothing.
So helpful - thank you!
have deleted all the AAAA records
can i therefore delete both the email and ftp A records?
Anything else? (klaviyo has been deleted - no longer in use)
SPF?
You can delete everything with these IPs (or replace it with your old IP:
That leaves creating the new DNS records for Kit. I assume you want to use a subdomain for that? Do you have the DNS records that you need from the Kit menu?
thanks so much for the help. kit is connected (and validated) - it seems with clouflare…one of the CName records had to be changed from proxy to dns…
I’ll delete all the records with these IPs:
104.21.41.6
172.67.141.33
thanks again!
