If I know a website is hosted in AWS Seoul and it’s behind cloudflare proxy (the dns lookup shows California cloudflare datacenter), Should I get lower ping if I ping that website from a server located in AWS Seoul or a server located in California cloudflare datacenter?
If you ping a proxied hostname, you are just pinging your nearest Cloudflare data centre.
what about loading data? should have lower latency if I’m closer to real datacenter? lets say dynamic data, not cached ones
The end-to-end latency should always be better for uncached content by being closer to the Origin web server. That may not always be the same as being physically closer to the Origin due to the nature of the Internet.
