When "Proxied" enabled, cannot connect to server


I am hosting a minecraft server at home. I have a domain name which I manage the DNS on Cloudflare. I have created an A record for the root domain pointing to my public IP. I have then created a CNAME (example: minecraft.domain.com) and pointing it to root (domain.com).

When “Proxied” is enabled, my friends are unable to join the server, but when I disable that, everyone can join.

Any suggestions, I’d rather have the traffic proxied to hide my IP.

Standard Cloudflare proxy is only for HTTP/S traffic over a limited set of ports. Minecraft is not one of them:
