I am setting up my business via freedomKit. My domain is currently with Namecheap. However, John of freedomKit suggests using Cloudflare.
- Is there a cost for moving my domain from Namecheap to Cloudflare? If so, what is it?
- What is the process for moving my domain from Namecheap to Cloudflare?
- After it has been transferred to Cloudflare, how long do I need to wait to set it up with freedomKit to host my website?
- Is there anything else I need to know regarding my domain?
Thank you!
Lee
You do not need to transfer your domain in order to use Cloudflare.
Whether you want to transfer your domain or use Cloudflare with an external domain, your first have to add your domain to Cloudflare as explained here:
https://developers.cloudflare.com/fundamentals/setup/manage-domains/add-site/
After you added your site to Cloudflare, you can use it immediately, free of charge.
If you want to actually transfer your domain to Cloudflare after that, you need to pay the renewal cost for one additional year.
