Got a domain from someone but I don’t know how to transfer it here. They gave me an authorization code for my domain transfer… but I can’t figure out what to do with it.
All the instructions here seem to imply I need to log into that guy’s account on the current registrar and change some things… but that doesn’t make sense. Help, please?
Cloudflare registrar is an exclusive benefit for domains that use Cloudflare nameservers. Before you can transfer an existing domain to Cloudflare registrar, you do indeed need to have it active in your Cloudflare account which requires updating nameservers at the current registrar. If the domain seller is willing to update the nameservers so that you may activate the domain in your Cloudflare account, you will be able to transfer the domain to Cloudflare registrar, as long as it is in a supported TLD. If the seller is unwilling to make such accommodation, you will need to transfer to another registrar first.
