Website shares same domain as internal network: DNS issue

What is the name of the domain?

urshan.edu

What is the error number?

Site can’t be reached

What is the error message?

urshan.edu refused to connect

What is the issue you’re encountering

Since our internal network/DNS server is the same as our website, urshan.edu, we cannot access the site while on the college network.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

We have added a A Host record pointing to the IP address at Cloudflare but is blocked by Cloudflare. Can you give us a solution to remediate this issue?

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

When accessing the website while connected to local network.

Screenshot of the error

Loads fine for me, clear browser cache & try again and/or try from incognito mode or mobile device. I see an under construction site

That A record should point to the IP of your origin server, not to a cloudflare IP.

In looking at your DNS records, the IP of the A record is not a cloudflare IP at all. But, the record is not proxied :grey: so you are by passing cloudflare.

I do not see the blocks in your logs, but you can create a WAF rule to allow traffic here

Thanks for the information and input. We did an NS lookup and got the IP that we are directing to. Is there a way to find the correct IP while logged into our Cloudflare account, and if so will that help remediate the issue?

What happens if you change that DNS record from not proxied :grey: to proxied :orange:? Is that when you start getting the connection refused error?
