Website not working after updating nameservers

What is the name of the domain?

slreg.com

What is the error number?

Error 1000

What is the error message?

Error 1000 Ray ID: 8ecdaba5ac762276 • 2024-12-04 17:55:58 UTC DNS points to prohibited IP

What is the issue you’re encountering

We needed to authenticate our email domain in our CRM (Follow Up Boss). It took us to Cloudflare and the instructions said to update our Nameservers in the host domain account, which for us is GoDaddy. Once the Nameservers were updated, the website stopped working.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I have read through articles on Cloudfares site based on what the AI support sent, but things have been conflicting and nothing has worked so far.

  1. What DNS record(s) did Follow Up Boss ask you to change?

  2. How does your Cloudflare Dashboard look, in regards to these specific DNS record(s)?

It seems like you were already using Cloudflare name servers before, and replaced the existing “jake.ns.cloudflare.com” & “lily.ns.cloudflare.com”, with "rafe.ns.cloudflare.com " & "rodney.ns.cloudflare.com?

By registering a new Cloudflare account and starting over from there, you will also need to re-configure all your DNS record(s) on the new Cloudflare account, so that they match with your hosting provider’s expectations.

The “Error 1000” you see, is often happening when you’re importing DNS records that are already Proxied (:orange:), while moving a domain from one Cloudflare account to another, which will mean that your DNS records (on your new set up) will be holding Cloudflare IP addresses, instead of the ones from your hosting provider.

Re-coordinating the DNS records together with your hosting provider will therefore be mandatory, in order to fix the “Error 1000” .
