Website not working after trying to move it to the other account

I have a problem with business-intuition-institute.com domain. It’s created and hosted originally on Kartra but I set uped Cloudflare for it a while ago. Then I wanted to move it to the other Cloudflare account. Did everything by the instructions (I guess) and then website stopped working. After trying to fix it I removed it from both Cloudflare accounts because I thought then everything will get back to where it was before Cloudflare but the website still doesn’t work for more than 10 hours already. Business is losing money so can someone help me to solve this?

Then I wanted to move it to the other Cloudflare account.

If I’m getting this correctly, you have two separate Cloudflare accounts and you wanted to move the domain from one to the other (and not from Kartra-managed Cloudflare to your own Cloudflare account)?

Did everything by the instructions (I guess) and then website stopped working.

The two possibilities here are:

  1. The “instructions” are wrong
  2. You didn’t follow the instructions correctly

I’d wager on #2

Right now the domain is using GoDaddy’s nameservers – and not the required Cloudflare nameservers. That means the domain is totally disconnected from ANY Cloudflare account.

  1. Open the domain/site in the Cloudflare account you want to use (or add it if it’s not there already) and check the nameservers assigned to the domain in your Cloudflare DNS app.
  2. Go to your GoDaddy account and change the domain’s nameservers to the Cloudflare nameservers you found in step #1 above.
  3. Once your domain is ACTIVE in Cloudflare, it’s time to point it to your Kartra site. This typically involves creating a CNAME record for your custom domain/subdomain (eg www.example.com in your Cloudflare DNS app, pointed at your Kartra site’s subdomain (eg example.kartra.com). Read through Kartra’s official documentation here: https://documentation.kartra.com/category/custom-domains/

When your business is losing money, perhaps you could spend a fraction of that to hire a professional to fix a problem immediately and stop losing even more money? This is one thing I’ll never understand: when it comes to other aspects of life – whether it’s our health, car, plumbing, etc – we immediately reach out for help when the task exceeds our abilities. But when it comes to websites, everyone tries to wing it – even when they claim to be losing gazillions of money every minute

Thanks for your answer George!

Actually I reached the limit how many times I could change nameservers in GoDaddy for 7 days so setting up Cloudflare again is not an option… I’ll want to do that again in the near future but right now I can’t… However, website worked fine without Cloudflare a couple of months ago once I had it only on Kartra and GoDaddy. Do you have tips of what to do now so that it would work at all? Even without Cloudflare. That would really really help. As for Cloudflare, I’ll follow your instructions right when I’ll get a chance to change those nameservers again

In that case, using Cloudflare is not an option.

And since Cloudflare is now out of the loop, all the setup, including support, would be between Kartra and GoDaddy.

I can see you already have your site address www.business-intuition-institute.com CNAME’d to your Kartra subdomain businessintuition.kartra.com. So it seems the DNS part is in place already.

There’s a Cloudflare error at this address because Kartra uses Cloudflare behind the scenes – this error has nothing to do with your own Cloudflare account settings.

My guess is that you’ve not yet completed the setup process inside your Kartra dashboard to activate the custom domain for your Kartra site. If you removed the custom domain from the Kartra platform, you’ll have to add it back.

Please get in touch with Kartra support as there’s not much we can do to help you here.

Big thanks for your help! I contacted Kartra support and we managed to solve this issue. Website is working again! Now I want to set up Cloudflare but I will I need to wait 7 days or less now after I reached my limit? Or will it be enough to wait 1-2 days so that I’d be a couple of new tries? Because I used most of them in last 24-48 hours. I want to make this sure so that it something would go wrong again, I’ll find to immeadiattly change it back to GoDaddy nameservers. But I guess to make sure everything will be fine I should change CNAME to mykartrausername.kartra.com in Cloudflare DNS settings after changing nameservers to Cloudflare’s in GoDaddy, yes? Just want to make sure I get everything right and I’ll try this again then.
