Website has been moved to new webserver and now SSL Full cert error

Hi - I’ve moved my company website to a new webserver and new host (IONOS). I’ve updated the A record in cloudflare but when browsing to https i receive a 526 error. The website was set to 'Full (Strict) ’ before and was working fine. What do i need to do?

Install a valid certificate on your new origin server.


You will need a valid origin certificate as already specified.


Before enabling Full (strict) mode, make sure your origin:

  • Allows HTTPS connections on port 443.
  • Presents a certificate matching the requirements above.

Otherwise, your visitors may experience a 526 error.
