My website was down randomly due to error 521. I called Bluehost and they essentially said it’s because of CloudFlare. And they suggested they’d remove the CDN for me and move everything to Bluehost. I am not well educated on web topics but I am just very confused by the whole situation.
Based on the help file from CloudFlare, 521 error is an issue with hosting. But Bluehost is telling me it’s because of CloudFlare. Who should I believe?!? Should I get rid of CloudFlare because it causes my website to go down?
Is there a way to get a notification for when my website is down? I just happened to visit it when it was down. If not for that, I wouldn’t have even known it was down.
BlueHost support blames Cloudflare a lot for 5xx errors. 99% of the time, it’s a problem at the host, but it’s easier and cheaper for them to blame Cloudflare.
That’s what I kinda figured. The support person was extremely unhelpful. I couldn’t believe it. This is the first time I set up a website. My site is tiny, and all I wanted was for it to be up and running, nothing fancy. I’ve already paid for a full year of hosting. Who should I move to once I’m done that year?
