Web host doesn’t give me the option to delete their nameservers

#1

I use Charter Communications web hosting and when I add Cloudflares DNS, Charter doesn’t give me the option to delete their nameservers. I am stuck at Cloudflares DNS not active(DNS modification pending). How do I work around this.
Thank you

The change of nameservers is done at your registrar rather than the web host (the company you bought the domain through. https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/205195708-Step-3-Change-your-domain-name-servers-to-Cloudflare)

The registrar is charter, and they offer a free web hosting with our business’s internet and phone subscription. They use the Odin services software and I can add my cloudflare dns records. They do not allow to delete their NS records since they are auto generated. I can however choose to change my dns hosting to external. What do I do, thank you for your help.

It appears that ultimately the registrar for your domain is actual enom (which I believe is a tucows subsidiary) according to a whois search for your domain. So the change would need to be made with them. You can confirm here: https://whois.icann.org/en

Charter does have ns records listed but they won’t matter/ come into the mix once the nameservers are transferred to Cloudflare.
