Web Analytics beacon.min.js blocked by DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials browser extension

Yesterday Cloudflare announced that their privacy-first Web Analytics is now available for everyone: https://blog.cloudflare.com/privacy-first-web-analytics/.

I’ve added the HTML snippet to my website, but the JavaScript file isn’t loaded in my browser because it is blocked by the DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials extension.

If Cloudflare Web Analytics isn’t a privacy issue for my visitors as Cloudflare claims, then why is it blocked as a tracker? If the block is a false positive, then Cloudflare needs to clear this up with DuckDuckGo.

I’m going to call that a grey area. While it is anonymous/private by Cloudflare’s admission, it is a tracker. I can see why DDG would take the Better Safe Than Sorry approach.
