We have a site on our subdomain and need www to lead to the subdomain as well

What is the issue you’re encountering

Going to www join-eby com does not go to our store. We need it to send traffic to our shop subdomain

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

None yet. Identified that our CNAME record for www is targeting an old AWS container. Is it safe to update this? Our site is hosted on shopify now so I cant imagine what the www target could be doing for us.

Step 1) Go to www join-eby com to see the error

If the www DNS record points to something you don’t use (and the 1016 error means the target doesn’t resolve anyway) then you can remove it.

If you want www to point to your shop you can either…

• add www as a domain on Shopify and CNAME to that, or
• redirect www to shop on Cloudflare.

Thank you for the quick response! This seems to be our best option then. So that we’re crystal on understanding:

• redirect www to shop on Cloudflare.

^ We can in the CNAME, for its target, we can say shop join-eby com to resolve it or some other method? Could you provide a little more direction please.
