Question : Is my traffic encrypted at the start of data transmission and once it reaches the cloudflare server? Once inside the server, is that data encrypted when sent to the website I visit? Does Cloudflare see which site I visit? I am using Warp+ and wanting to know. Thank you.
In short answer, yes.
Your traffic is encrypted from your device to Cloudflare’s edge servers.
Warp+ uses 1.1.1.1 as resolver (Cloudflare’s public DNS service) to route traffic securely. The connection between your device and Cloudflare is encrypted using TLS.
When your traffic reaches Cloudflare’s edge servers, it is decrypted and forwarded to the destination website, especially when the site uses HTTPS. However, if the website does not use HTTPS, the connection between Cloudflare and the website might not be encrypted on the line.
Cloudflare will see the sites you visit since it acts as an “proxy” between your device and the website. However, Cloudflare does not log your browsing activity - if that’s the concern here?. Cloudflare does not use this data for advertising purposes or sell it to third parties - if that’s your 2nd concern with this question?
