I’m not familiar with how the email part of a website is moved from one host to another. I would like to know what the steps are ahead of time and what the risk is of losing new email during any down time.
Cloudflare is not a mail host. If you plan to use Cloudflare you can keep your current mail host, just make sure you add the required DNS records to your Cloudflare DNS.
Yes, Cloudflare will forward email for your domain to an existing email address/account you have, but doesn’t store it or allow you to send email through it.
Thank you. I still need basically the same help though. I want to move to cloudflare as my registrar. I will move the email somewhere else, maybe proton. currently my DNS is pointed to my other host. If I point my DNS to cloudflare, does everything still work the same?
