My hobby website has great security from the CF WAF and other security features.
Separately I load videos to CloudflareStream to be displayed via links, usually.
From analytics I see some videos are being opened by unintended viewers, in various countries.
I would like to have the same security structure as available for websites, but in particular access to create WAF rules for my videos.
Is that possible or available?
Hi,
Thank you for reaching out to us. It is possible to secure your videos hosted on Cloudflare Stream using similar security features as those available for websites. Here’s how you can enhance the security for your videos and control access:
You can try using Signed URLs. Signed URLs allow you to create time-limited, secure links to your videos. Only users with a valid signed URL can access the video, preventing unauthorised access.
Here are some common use cases for using signed URLs:
- Restricting access so only logged in members can watch a particular video
- Let users watch your video for a limited time period (ie. 24 hours)
- Restricting access based on geolocation
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions.
