What is the issue or error you’re encountering

vpn.newtownsmithy.com DNS A Record created pointing towards root DNS A record (which is proxied). When i switch off the proxy for the VPN record I am able to connect, but this leaves my root IP exposed. When I enable the proxy i am not able to connect. Is there any way I can connect without exposing my root IP?

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I have checked all of my VPN settings and can see nothing preventing the VPN from connecting

I have tested the VPN using an un-proxied DNS entry and the VPN connects fine

The issue seems to be routing through the cloudflare proxy

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Switching on and off the proxy seems to reproduce the error each time

Right, Cloudflare does not support VPN protocols nor is that within the terms of service. You need to make sure it is not proxied.
