What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Recently, like 2-3 days ago, we started to notice that videos recorded using a cellphone upside down are not being corrected anymore to the correct orientation. This problem only happens with videos being processed with a watermark.This problem just started to happen this week.

We use Cloudflare stream VOD.

We did the following tests:

Videos recorded with correct orientation = Player plays correct orientation
Videos recorded with correct orientation + watermark = Player plays correct orientation
Videos recorded with orientation upside down = Player plays correct orientation
Videos recorded with orientation upside down + watermark = Player plays incorrect orientation.

Were there any updates to the Cloudflare stream API or video processing?

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

1 - Record a video on a cellphone in upside down position
2 - Upload the video by Stream API adding a watermark profile
3 - Play the video using Cloudflare stream player

Wonder if the mobile device has auto-orioentation turned on or off? :thinking:
Does it make any difference filming a video with turned off?

Haven’t experienced this yet, will give it try.

And you didn’t change anything or modfied the code to show iframe of the Stream player by your self? :thinking:

I didn’t find this option on my mobile camera options (Android 14)

We haven’t changed anything in the code of Iframe player or on upload process.

The complaints started a few days ago, and after investigating the problem, we discovered that it was in videos recorded on a cell phone, recorded with the screen in portrait mode (cell phone tilted to the right) and that have a watermark.
