Using Cloudflare SSL with BlueHost

What is the name of the domain?

adventuretheatre-mtc.org

What is the error number?

404 if full too many redirects if flexible

What is the issue you’re encountering

Website won’t load

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Changed the SSL levels. Worked with BH, but this is their response.

Thank you for being on hold. As the IP is not pointing to the Bluehost server IP, The SSL can be installed from the Cloudflare side only, as Cloudflare had access to install the SSL on the website as the IP was pointing to the Cloudflare IP. Please get in touch with the Flexibly or Cloudflare support and inform them to install the SSL on the website?

The option that we had now is to point the server IP to the Bluehost, and then only we can install the SSL on the website as the SSL can be installed only if the A record is pointing to the server IP, and here, as it was pointing to the Cloudflare IP, Only the Cloudflare can have the access to update it.

I have asked the tech to turn off the https redirects.

What is the current SSL/TLS setting?

Off

Full, I get this error

The requested URL was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

This is obviously not correct, if you just referred to “Flexible”.

That’s also an outdated, legacy mode which you should never choose in the first place, as it disabled encryption altogether. Make sure to always select Full Strict.

You best pause Cloudflare for now and get this fixed by your host. Once your site loads fine on HTTPS when paused, it will also work with Cloudflare.
