Using Cloudflare and SiteGround caches simultaneously?

What is the name of the domain?

What is the issue you’re encountering

The website speed reduces radically when enabling Cloudflare cache

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

When testing the website speed (full website Google Pagespeed crawl by Screaming Frog) with Cloudflare cache in Development mode (/temporarily deactivated), our website is 30-40% faster compared to when Cloudflare cache is enabled.

What’s the best option for using SiteGround cache and Cloudflare cache at the same time? Or should we disable the Cloudflare cache and enjoy the speed? If we disable the Cloudflare cache, are we losing any security benefits by Cloudflare?

Greetings,

Thank you for asking.

May I ask if you’re still experiencing an issue?

Currently, loads pretty fast for me:

However, as far as I can see you’re using multiple caches and it’s BYPASS, it’s HIT on origin (SiteGround), however the caching plugin SG Optimizer (my best guess) therefore Cloudflare APO too is BYPASS.

Are you trying to cache the HTML (Dynamic) content as well?

x-proxy-cache: HIT
x-cache-enabled: True
sg-f-cache: BYPASS

cf-edge-cache: cache,platform=wordpress
cf-cache-status: BYPASS
cf-apo-via: origin,no-cache

May I ask if you do have any feedback information in the meantime from SiteGround about their caching system?

Could be there is some kind of a conflict with HTTP headers for caching between SiteGround and Cloudflare :orange: proxy DNS records.

May I ask you to share what kind of options have you got selected and configured for Caching at Cloudflare dashboard?

What kind of content are you expecting to keep in the cache with Cloudflare?

I’d suggest the below article for test and help:

It is a bit complex caching right now, using SiteGround + SG Optimizer + Cloudflare APO.

A bit in past, I found two articles about this, it might help a bit to better understand:
