Is there a way for me to be able to use the DDoS protection from Cloudflare without me having to change the nameservers to Cloudflare? I host my website with Hostgator, which controls my emails, files, website, and website editor, so I’d rather not change the nameservers off of it, but I still want to DDoS protection from it. Is there a way to do this? If not, I’d need some help configuring all of the DNS records to what Hostgator does automatically
That is a great question and I definitely understand your concerns of moving your DNS away from Hostgator. It is my understanding that this is possible with business level plans and above by using a CNAME record. However, Cloudflare does an amazing job of moving your DNS over from Hostgator, including your mail and website editor with just one click! I would recommend giving it a shot, this also offers the best level of protection.
