What is the issue you’re encountering

Universal SSL is enabled, but the Edge Certificate does not exist

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I am a company managing many domains—over 30,000—and I have been facing a silent issue. It appears that several domains, which previously had Universal SSL enabled and were properly certified, suddenly stop working. Upon investigation, I find that Universal SSL is still enabled, but the Edge Certificate is missing, causing the error mentioned in the title.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening or to fix it—either permanently or as a temporary workaround—via the API?

I can’t see problems with any of these domains, they all have valid certificates.

The website issue was resolved because the client requested urgency, so we disabled and re-enabled Universal SSL to fix it. However, the real problem is that it keeps recurring. Unfortunately, I can’t leave a client’s website offline for too long for you to analyze due to contractual reasons. If you need a screenshot or log of something, I can provide it as soon as the issue happens again.

Right now, the DNS record for this doesn’t point to Cloudflare.
