Understanding DDOS & BOT protection via the Router

Other than using 1.1.1.2 to protect the SMB or professional Home Router in the DNS settings, (for malware), what is the route to apply DDOS protection for the network and also BOT protection via the router (and not on the per PC basis).

  1. Limitations, not domain name associated and no web site, although the Router has its own dyndns record (mikrotik).
  2. Router does have docker/container capabiltybeing added, with which perhaps to add some instructions that may allow the above two functionalities to exist and be executed.

Probably none…. Perhaps magic WAN. But protecting a single IP isn’t really practical on the interwebs.
