What is the issue you’re encountering

Hi everyone, We’re currently on Shopify and need to update our notification email address to a branded one. I’ve added all the required DNS records exactly as Shopify instructed, and Shopify support has confirmed there are no issues on their side. However, the new email address is still not being approved. I’ve seen quite a few similar posts here, but I haven’t found a clear solution yet. It’s honestly quite frustrating — especially considering there’s no direct way to reach Cloudflare support for help, which seems like a bit of a joke given how critical this step is. Has anyone actually managed to fix this? Would really appreciate any guidance! Thanks so much in advance.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Contacted Shopify/ can’t contact Cloudflare

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

I don’t know

You’d need to share those with us if we are to have a look. Those records aren’t private information, so sharing them here isn’t a problem.

Here’s a redacted version of the records currently in place (all set to DNS Only, TTL Auto):

Type: CNAME
Name: wck._domainkey
Target: dkim1.XXXXXX.email.myshopify.com

Type: CNAME
Name: wck2._domainkey
Target: dkim2.XXXXXX.email.myshopify.com

Type: CNAME
Name: wck3._domainkey
Target: dkim3.XXXXXX.email.myshopify.com

Type: CNAME
Name: mailerwck
Target: XXXXXX.email.myshopify.com

Despite this, authentication continues to fail in Shopify, and public DNS checkers report that wck._domainkey.[mydomain].com.au doesn’t exist.

I’ve already deleted and re-added the records to force a refresh and waited multiple days, but no change.

I can see that you have added your records in the wrong Cloudflare account. Make sure that you add the records to the account in which the domain is active.

The domain currently uses nameservers cartman and lady, but you have added the records to an account with alan and melinda:

dig +short wck._domainkey.gingerlilly.com.au @alan.ns.cloudflare.com
dkim1.172ce4cce5bd.p904.email.myshopify.com.

There’s really no need to redact these, as you’re trying to publish them anyway.

Thanks, just added this to the correct nameserver but the verification is still pending on Shopify ends.

The last of the 4 records is not quite right yet:

mailerwck.gingerlilly.com.au. 300 IN CNAME wck._domainkey

What do you mean? I can see it hasn’t been verified on SHopify ends. It’s a literal copy paste and now i’m out of option…

I mean that you copied the wrong value for the 4th record.

Thanks, it has now been edited! Hopefully this workssss
