Unable to set DKIM CNAME record

Hello there,

Few days ago I added CNAME DKIM record but nothing is showing up in DNS lookup. The domain is: hornval.eu

This is the record:

Name: salesmanago._domainkey.hornval.eu. Target: salesmanago._domainkey.smgrid.pl.

Record on my panel:

What I did wrong? I would be very grateful for any help.

From a DNS perspective, that looks fine. How are you testing, and what errors do you receive?

Hm, may I ask why over CNAME? Is it due to the use of a third-party email service?

Typically DKIM is added via TXT record as default._domainkey.yourdomain.com with value like v=DKIM1; t=s; p=<GENERATED_VALUE_HERE> or like v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=<GENERATED_VALUE_HERE>.

Also, consider adding SPF record as well as DMARC policy, if possible

Lots of email sending SaaS providers use a CNAME for DKIM records. This enables the SaaS provider to rotate the keys without needing their customers to be involved. Probably more reliable as well, as entering the CNAME should be easier and less error prone than getting customers to put in a TXT record!
