Unable to renew or recover expired domain

What is the name of the domain?

What is the issue you’re encountering

This domain expired but I am unable to renew or register it again.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

It expired 93 days ago and was a domain in my account. My client forgot to pay their invoice and renew the domain so it expired.

Whois lookup shows the following status:
client transfer prohibited
server hold
server renew prohibited
server update prohibited
pending delete
server transfer prohibited

I thought it would be deleted after 90 days so I could register it again. When I try it says the domain is already registered.

Is there anyway to recover the domain?

It hasn’t deleted yet but is about to (deletion is 5 days after the 90 days). The domain can’t be renewed in those 5 days. Nominet says the drop time will be 2025-04-13T16:40:26Z.

When the name drops there is always a chance someone else will grab it first so if the domain is important they may want to consider a drop catching service like Snapnames to try to be the one to get the domain first.
