What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
Hello everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out regarding an issue that arose suddenly on my domain. Since yesterday, all SMTP emails have stopped working—I can neither send nor receive emails. Upon further investigation today, I noticed that the website is also down.
I haven’t made any changes to the configuration since the site went live, nor since connecting it to Cloudflare in September. I’ve checked the DNS settings, and everything seems to be in order. Additionally, I verified with the server host to see if there were any updates to the IP or related changes, but everything appears unchanged.
I’ve already opened a support ticket with my hosting provider, but in the meantime, if anyone could provide guidance or suggestions on what might be causing this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.
Based on the records in your screenshot, you are breaking your email by pointing to a proxied hostname just like you were when given the following advice in September.
Start by switching your apex name (that’s just your domain name by itself) from → . That will remove the Cloudflare proxy from the equation and allow you to directly troubleshoot your website.
It will also temporarily fix your email for as long as that hostname is set to . You really do need to follow the directions that I shared from September in order to have your email continue to work properly after you finish troubleshooting your website.
Thank you! I contacted the hosting provider regarding the email server and domain issues. They suggested switching back to their DNS instead of Cloudflare, as they had resolved similar SSL issues in the past. They also mentioned improvements and updates on their server. By reverting to their DNS, all issues, including SSL and the email server problems, have been fully resolved.
