I’m trying to implement a WAF rule that blocks all requests coming from outside my country

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Hello Cloudflare Community,

I’m currently using the Cloudflare free plan, and I’m trying to implement a WAF rule that blocks all requests coming from outside my country. However, I’m having some trouble finding the WAF rules section, even though I read that the free plan provides up to 5 WAF rules.

I’m hoping to get help with the following:

Is it true that Cloudflare’s free plan allows for 5 WAF rules?
How can I set up a WAF rule (or any other rule) to block all requests from countries outside my own?
I understand that there’s the Country Blocking feature, but I wanted to confirm the best way to achieve this via the WAF rules.
If the WAF rules aren’t available on the free plan, is there a workaround (like using Firewall Rules) to block country-based traffic?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,

I am seeing a message that says “Purchase Add-On” instead of being able to add custom WAF rules.

You’re at the account level, and, yes, that’s a paid feature.

You need to get into the individual zone/site to find the WAF you’re looking for.

Just follow the step-by-step instructions in the link @sjr provided above.

Thank you so much for your help! I was able to resolve the issue after your suggestion. I really appreciate you taking the time to guide me through it. Your input was invaluable!
