Unable to add CNAME record

My domain is registered with IONOS

I have changed the Name Serves to go through cloudflare

My domain is now active at GroovePages

However, when I try to add CNAME record it tells me it already exists

When I enter my url groovinwithsasha.com it goes to my index page at IONOS.com

I want it to go to my index page at GroovePages.com

That’s because you already have an “A” or “CNAME” record for the same hostname. You need to delete that other one first.

I believe I may have created this situation by

  1. Going to Cloudflare and adding groovinwithsasha.com and not completing the DNS mapping
  2. Days later I followed new instructions provided by Groove, to change the Named Servers at my host name to…
  3. apollo.ns.cloudflare.com
  4. uma.ns.cloudflare.com
This change eventually made my domain active at Groove. However, I have not been able to make the CNAME record changes. When I look at the DNS at Cloudflare, I am thinking I have created a duplicates

I also received a message from Cloudflare that I have removed Zone for groovinwithsasha.com which I believe I did because I deleted one CNAME record.

I do not know how to add the Zone back and I do not know which of my A and AAAA records should be removed to clean this up.

Thank YOU for your help!!!

This index page is at IONOS

I would like to have my domain name go to my index page on groovepages

I have removed my site and am starting all over. Thank YOU for your help!
