Even after removing all of the semicolons from the default_domainkey settings from cpanel, I am still getting a DNS Validation Error 1004.
Is there any way I can send @sandro or @domjh @sdayman anyone a private of you my login credentials for Cloudflare to try to help me find out what I am doing wrong with entering my TXT record for this domain?
And tell me what I am doing wrong, so that I can fix it so I don’t have to worry you guys unneccessarily.
You’re missing a period after default. It should be default._domainkey
And you do need the semicolons after each parameter.
I added the period and the semicolons are still intact but I am still getting the DNS Validation error.
Can you post the DKIM record text here? I’d like to give it a try.
Sure:
v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIIBIjANBgkqhkiG9w0BAQEFAAOCAQ8AMIIBCgKCAQEArgPsSIlYIAHO1uXK21zXt7ZR6M1jhR5Xnogj5apNuSlVauac19291t1UY9w7ZwOX2ljrwfwwgaD0+ZBq6kL5d9sbHmW8DrjRr5R1ZYv3q/d4K/VgjaJ7NeoPYHZp6tMftulWPmTA7QEcz41/rRkImnKRDKnk3R9wRh0At2QeftfodBz9jdKAJv6hotvJf5+XNUz+FAjLChoMcy2vTMU+uID4yh4XeU97sBh/MtAQWE/zvj3cPYjCZDgAsSk0TZTZPWg4s2mvFsACaKiB/3bpPcLEjQFPxjNThK2f4i22zra7vgfPX6BWwsikODP4x36kToTJybTUwVhD/8DkT6VMVQIDAQAB;
That just pasted right in when I used: default._domainkey for the Name field. You may just have to open a Support Ticket:
Login to Cloudflare and then contact Cloudflare Support by clicking on the Get More Help button.
Ok, thankyou @sdayman!
I may have forgotten the context here. The first image you posted looks like the DNS record was successfully added to Cloudflare. Was it?
And when you put the period in, plus the semicolons, did that TXT record show up in the DNS listing? I didn’t see a red band error 1004 in the screenshots.
The first image was my cpanel records, and I wasn’t able to add those records successfully in any of the Cloudflare images.
I started a support ticket but it told me that my MX records might be missing, or my server. Or the support also said that “The origin web server for seanthewebpro.com is responding slowly to initial requests for uncached HTML content.”
Can you check my MX records and tell me if they are okay? And can you tell me how to check to find out if my server is responding too slowly or not? Or, if it might be another error?
seanthewebpro has no published MX records. But that’s not the domain in your original post.
seanvanzant does have an MX record that points to what looks like a CNAME for an hostname.
Sorry for the previous redundancy. It appeared that I was trying to overrepeat my point. I have a bad habit of being redundant about lots of things when I talk or write
