Tunnel not forwarding traffic from config.yml

I’m just starting to play with Argo, and I have an issue where if I bring up my tunnel via CLI, i.e.
cloudflared tunnel --hostname sd.domain.tld sd.domain2.tld:443
The tunnel comes up and starts propagating traffic

However if I use the following yaml config:
hostname: sd.domain.tld
url: sd.domain2.tld:443

And start with
cloudflared tunnel run instance

The tunnel does not propagate traffic

Not sure why this would make a difference, but any help would be appreciated. This is on Linux (Ubuntu) version 2020.10.2
