Troubleshooting daily request limit exceeded - identifying the requests

For Workes & Pages, what is the name of the domain?

calculatingempires.org (maybe?)

What is the error number?

n/a

What is the error message?

[ACTION REQUIRED] Daily request limit exceeded for Cloudflare Workers and/or Pages Functions

What is the issue or error you’re encountering

I use free pages to host a handful of fairly low-traffic static sites. I recently added a somewhat higher traffic (although still static, and not tens of thousands of visits per hour) site to the mix. Since then, I’ve been getting daily alerts that I have exceeded the daily request limit. However, even after exceeding that limit, the site continues to work. When I go to the dashboard, I can see that the request limit has been hit, but I can’t seem to find information about 1) which domain is actually triggering this, and 2) what the nature of the requests are so that I can see if there is a way to reduce them. Is there a way to get more information about requests beyond their aggregate count?

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Looked at the documentation and in the forum. There are other posts that seem to start with this problem (i.e. [Cloudflare]: [ACTION REQUIRED] Daily request limit exceeded), but they don’t really answer the question/answers point to an older version of the dashboard.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

wait a few hours after the daily reset

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I could not find the domain calculatingempires.org added to Cloudflare. Please refer to our documentation regarding limits for free plans: Limits · Cloudflare Workers docs

Thanks!

Sorry! Calculatingempires.net, not .org!

Regardless, even after looking at the documentation, I’m still not sure how to troubleshoot what exactly is triggering all of these requests. Is there a way to get more granular data beyond just to the total number on the account?

thanks
