Trouble understanding MX error from Cloudflare

Greetings,

I’m just getting started with Cloudflare, and I’m liking that DNS errors are more explicit here. I have a basic understanding of how things work, so when I’ve setup DNS records in a VPS, when there was a bug, I didn’t know it. Now I’m getting an error, and doing quite understand what it means, and I hope someone can assist me.

The error:
An MX record was not found for your root domain. An MX record is required for mail to reach @lawfulgoodgaming.org addresses.

However, I have setup the MX records for my site, best as I know how. My mail server has two MX records to enter, and I set them to the server ‘@’, so they’re showing up for ‘lawfulgoodgaming.org’. So I don’t understand the error.

I have an additional question about a TXT record, but I’m guessing that should be a separate thread.

Hey, I used to be on the homie cluster at Dreamhost. The good ol’ days.

Yes, there’s an MX record for your root domain, so I don’t know what it’s complaining about. mxtoolbox.com seems pretty happy about your MX records.

If it doesn’t go away and really bugs you, open a Support ticket at support.cloudflare.com

By the way, have you tried sending yourself a test email from an external account? I expect that it’d make it through just fine.
