What is the issue you’re encountering
I deleted a redirect rule for my domain on November 25, 2024, but the rule is still active. Despite waiting for 24 hours, the issue persisted. I reported this to Cloudflare support via ticket (#01288210) on November 26, but I have only received automated responses with no actual resolution or updates.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
I initially set up a transformation rule to redirect all requests from one domain to another via a 301 redirect, as I did not plan to use the original domain at that time. On November 26, 2024, at 17:41 (KST), I decided to deactivate and remove this rule since it was no longer needed.
Here are the steps I have taken to resolve the issue:
- Deactivated the transformation rule.
- Deleted the rule entirely from the Cloudflare dashboard.
- Purged all caches to ensure no cached version of the rule was being served.
- Adjusted TTL (Time to Live) settings to force the propagation of updated configurations.
- Enabled Development Mode to bypass cached content and confirm the updated rule configuration.
- Submitted a support ticket to Cloudflare on November 26, 2024.
- I waited for the changes to take effect, but after five hours, the problem persisted. To address the situation, I opened a support case (#01288210) and described the issue in detail. Despite this, I only received automated responses. Here are the responses I received:

As this happened during the Thanksgiving holiday week, I considered the possibility of delays. However, I still have not received any meaningful response or resolution as of today.
Even though I am on the Free Tier, I believe that basic product functionality issues, such as this one, deserve a response regardless of the plan. Despite following all suggested troubleshooting steps and waiting, requests to the original domain and its subdomains still result in a 301 redirect to the target domain, even though the transformation rule has been deactivated and deleted.
What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
- Set up a transformation rule in Cloudflare to redirect requests from one domain to another using a 301 redirect.
- Make the rule inactive or delete it entirely in the Cloudflare dashboard.
- Purge caches, adjust TTL, and enable Development Mode to ensure the settings propagate.
- Attempt to access the original domain or any of its subdomains.
- Observe that the 301 redirect to the target domain still occurs, despite the rule being inactive or deleted.
