Transferring Domain away from cloudflare

Says the domain is locked. There is no option to unlock the domain to have it transferred.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I have tried updating the DNS records manually, exporting them and everything.

That domain is not using Cloudflare in any capacity. Is that the correct domain?

Under the transfer domain option this is the error I am receiving on Cloudflare.

“Registry status: Client transfer prohibited. Please unlock and allow a few hours to update.”

There is no option to unlock and I have an email from early November when this was all initiated that my domain was unlocked.

In the title, you said you wanted to transfer the domain away from Cloudflare. But it is not registered with Cloudflare, but with wordpress.com, so you can’t transfer it away from Cloudflare.

Correct, I bought the domain last year from cloudflare. Earlier in November, I hired someone to build out my site & the wanted to use Wordpress. So I initiated the domain transfer from cloudflare to Wordpress.

I unlocked the domain ant cloudflare and started the transfer process on 11/4/24. Ive been trying to transfer the domain since then and on Wordpress it says the DNS records are incorrect for transferring the domain. Cloudflare gives the error that the domain is locked, despite having the email stating that I unlocked the domain.

The domain is already transferred to Wordpress.

You can check here, the registrar is no longer Cloudflare, but Automattic (which means wordpress.com).

Yeah, now that it’s “attached to Wordpress” the we get the DNS records are wrong error even though we’ve uploaded the records provided by cloudflare and tried to manually enter them too. It’s been this way for a month and it’s been “pending” the whole time because of the incorrect records.
